Who gets the rebate?

Mrakamai: alright, lets say you want to give someone a present but the one you want costs more than one that's better, performance wise (we're talking compact flash cards).
Mrakamai: now the better one is cheaper due to a rebate.
Mrakamai: how can one give the gift AND get the rebate?
Mrakamai: or does the rebate go to the recipient?
bug: Well.. no, it doesn't. I mean.. what you pay for any given gift is up to you.. you're under no obligation to pay MORE for the same or lesser product just so you've spent a certain amount. Buy the card at the best price you can find and give the gift with a clear conscience. :-)
Mrakamai: LOL, even with the upc missing? :-D
bug: Yes. :-)
Mrakamai: well, the friend would probably understand since she's totally broke herself.
bug: You could always take it out of *all* the packaging, put it in a lovely gift box and present it that way. :-D
